Managing a household with both dogs and cats can be quite a balancing act. Each pet often has its own unique personality and energy level, which makes finding suitable enrichment activities a bit tricky. Recently, I’ve been observing how my dog and two cats respond to various toys and games during playtime.

Some days, my dog seems to crave more physical activity, while the cats prefer mentally stimulating activities. Puzzle feeders and interactive toys have been great, but it often takes some experimentation to figure out what works best for each pet. For those of you with multi-pet homes, what enrichment activities have you found that keep your furry friends engaged? Are there specific toys or games that cater well to both dogs and cats? Try setting up a space where they can all watch birds or squirrels outside together. It gives the dogs something to bark at while the cats stay mentally stimulated. Plus, rotating toys every week keeps things fresh and exciting for all of them!

I’ve got both a dog and a cat too, and I’ve found that rotating toys really helps keep them interested. For my dog, a flirt pole gets him running, while my cat loves to chase after laser pointers. It’s fun to watch them both interact when I use a feather wand; they’ll compete to catch it, which keeps them entertained for ages!
