Creative DIY Toys to Keep Your Cat Entertained

I’ve been struggling to keep my cat entertained lately. While I enjoy buying toys for her, they often lose her interest pretty quickly. I’m thinking about trying some DIY toys because they tend to be cheaper and I can make them tailored to her likes.

I’ve come across a few ideas online, like using old socks filled with catnip and making puzzle feeders from cardboard. I’d love to hear what other cat owners have found successful. What DIY toys have you created that your cats really enjoy? Any specific materials or techniques you’d recommend?

Also, do you think making homemade treats could enhance playtime? I’m eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

My cat loves this DIY fishing rod toy I made with a long stick, some string, and a feather. She goes wild for it! As for treats, I’ve found she’s way more interested in playtime when there’s a bit of food involved—like hiding treats in boxes or putting them inside a puzzle feeder. Definitely worth a shot!

Old toilet paper rolls can be a hit too! Just stuff them with treats or crumpled paper. My cat goes crazy trying to get stuff out of them. As for homemade treats, I’d say they definitely help keep things engaging!
