DIY Toys That Enrich Reptile Habitats

Living with reptiles in a busy home means I have to keep them entertained in a way that doesn’t create too much chaos. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with DIY toys that not only engage my pets but also encourage their natural behaviors. For instance, I made a climbing structure using branches and ropes, and my gecko is absolutely loving it!

I’m really interested in hearing what others have tried. Are there any specific materials or designs that have worked well for your reptiles? How do you make sure the toys are safe and non-toxic? I would love to gather any tips or experiences you have with creating homemade enrichment toys!

I’ve made some hideouts using cardboard boxes and paper towel tubes, and my snakes seem to love slithering through them. Just make sure to avoid any inks or toxic coatings! Have you tried food puzzles to make them think a bit more during feeding time?

I made a simple foraging toy out of a small cardboard box and some crumpled paper inside. My bearded dragon loves digging through it to find treats. Just make sure whatever you use is safe and doesn’t have any toxic coatings. What kind of reptiles do you have?
