Engaging Your Parrot in a Small Space

As a dedicated parrot owner, I’ve discovered that keeping our feathered companions entertained is just as crucial as their nutrition and well-being. Living in a cozy apartment in Denver presents some challenges, but I’ve found effective ways to create a lively environment for my parrots. One of my favorite activities is crafting DIY toys from common household items. This approach is not only cost-effective but also allows me to tailor the toys to their unique interests.

I also enjoy preparing various homemade treats using fruits, vegetables, and grains. These simple recipes are not only healthier than store-bought options but also add an element of surprise for my parrots. Experimenting with different flavors has been a delightful journey, and involving them in the preparation can strengthen our bond.

To keep things interesting, I regularly rotate the toys and activities. Just like us, parrots can become bored with a routine. By observing their preferences, I adapt our activities, which helps prevent behavioral issues and keeps them mentally engaged.

What DIY toys or treats do your parrots love? How do you maintain their interest in a smaller living space?
