Fun DIY Toys to Enrich Your Parrot's Life

As a proud parrot owner, one of the greatest joys is watching my feathered friends play and explore. Living in Denver, I’ve found that creating DIY toys not only sparks their curiosity but also strengthens our bond. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to repurpose materials that might otherwise be discarded!

I enjoy using everyday, safe items to craft engaging toys for my parrots. For instance, a simple shredding toy can be made from strips of paper or cardboard—just twist and tie them together, and watch your parrot enjoy the fun! Old wooden spoons or empty toilet paper rolls can be transformed into foraging toys that encourage them to search for hidden treats. It’s amazing how a little creativity can lead to hours of entertainment for both you and your bird.

I also like to whip up healthy homemade snacks, like baked sweet potatoes or fruit-and-vegetable skewers, to keep things exciting in their diet. Variety is key! I’d love to hear about the toys or treats you’ve created for your birds. What DIY projects have you found to be the most successful? Let’s share our ideas and experiences!
