Could free play benefit my bearded dragon? A friend suggested letting it roam outside its enclosure for mental stimulation, which sounds great, but I’m concerned about safety. My roommates also love animals and would like to get in on the fun, so we need some guidance on how to do this properly.
Has anyone successfully incorporated free play into their bearded dragon’s routine? What precautions should we take to minimize stress and prevent injuries? I’d appreciate any tips for creating a safe environment for them to explore!
Free play can be awesome for them, but I’d recommend starting with a small, safe area where you can control the environment, like a bathroom or a playpen. Just keep an eye out for any small things they could swallow or hide under. And definitely monitor their stress levels; if they seem anxious, it might be best to limit their time outside the enclosure at first.
I let my bearded dragon roam around my living room sometimes, but I always keep a close eye on her. Make sure to clear the area of anything she could climb or knock over. Have you thought about setting up a little play area with some hiding spots or texture for her to explore?
