How do you choose toys for your rescue pets?

Choosing toys for a mix of rescue pets can be quite the challenge! Each pet has different preferences and needs, making it hard to find options that keep everyone engaged and safe. For instance, some of my foster pets love to chew, while others enjoy interactive toys that challenge their minds. It can be tricky to balance these interests while also ensuring the materials are safe for them.

I often wonder if certain types of toys are worth the investment. Are there specific brands or types that you all have had great success with? I’m also curious about any enrichment activities you’ve found that keep your furry friends entertained and happy.

I’d love to hear about your favorite toys or activities that have worked well for your pets. What should I keep in mind when selecting toys for different animals?

I’ve had pretty good luck with the Kong toys. My dogs love the ones you can fill with treats or peanut butter, and it keeps them busy for ages. For my cats, those little feather wands work wonders - they can’t resist! Just gotta watch for any small parts that can come off.

I totally get that! For my rescue dog, I’ve had great luck with KONG toys filled with peanut butter for chewing, and the interactive puzzle feeders keep her busy for hours. Have you tried any DIY puzzles? Those can be super cheap and tailored to your pets’ preferences!
