How does a 25-gallon fish tank compare in size?

Sizing up a 25-gallon fish tank for your living room can be a bit tricky. It’s often viewed as an ideal choice for keeping various fish without overwhelming maintenance, but how much space will it actually occupy?

If you already have some pets at home, the placement of a 25-gallon tank is an important consideration. Does it take up too much space, or can it comfortably fit alongside your other pet setups? Additionally, what types of fish thrive best in a tank of this size?

Any insights or personal experiences with maintaining a 25-gallon tank would be greatly appreciated!

A 25-gallon tank isn’t too big, but it definitely needs a dedicated spot. I set mine up next to my dog’s crate, and it’s been fine, but I had to account for the filtration noise. For fish, community species like tetras or guppies do really well, but just be careful with overcrowding!
