How important is a calm environment for parrot care?

Noticing how my parrot responds to the noise in our new neighborhood made me wonder about the impact of a calm environment on his well-being. In our previous, quieter home, he seemed much more relaxed, but with the hustle and bustle of our new surroundings, I’m curious if fostering a more peaceful atmosphere could help him adjust.

For those living with parrots in busier areas, what strategies do you use to keep their stress levels down? Have you found that simple changes, like playing soft music or providing calming toys, really make a difference? I’d love to hear your insights and any tips you have for maintaining a serene space for our feathered companions!

I’ve definitely noticed that my parrot does better when I keep the TV volume low and play soft background music. I also have a few colorful toys that he loves to focus on, which seem to help distract him from outside noise. Maybe you could try setting up a cozy corner with his favorite things to create a little safe zone!

I’ve definitely noticed that keeping the environment calm really helps my parrot too. Soft background music works wonders for him, and I try to cover his cage with a light cloth when things get too loud outside. Also, having plenty of perches and safe hiding spots seems to give him a sense of security. Hope that helps!
