How often should I feed my rabbit each day?

Feeding a rabbit can be a bit daunting with so many different opinions out there. With my busy family life here in Denver, I’m trying to nail down the best feeding schedule to keep my rabbit happy and healthy. I’ve come across advice suggesting that adult rabbits thrive on two meals a day, but I’m wondering if that’s truly the best way to go about it.

I want to make sure my rabbit gets enough fresh hay, veggies, and pellets without overdoing it. It seems like every source has different guidelines. For those of you with rabbit experience, how do you handle your feeding routines? Do you stick to specific meal times, or do you adjust based on your rabbit’s behavior? What strategies have you found that keep your rabbits content and at a healthy weight?

I keep it pretty simple with two meals a day, and my rabbit seems to do well with that. I make sure to always have hay out for him to munch on whenever he wants. Just watch their weight and adjust portions if needed, since every rabbit’s a bit different!

I’ve had my bunny for a few years now, and I usually feed him in the morning and evening. He gets unlimited hay, and I give him a small handful of pellets and veggies at meal times. Just watch how much he eats; if he’s getting chubby, I cut back a bit!
