How to Choose the Best Enrichment Activities for Your Dog

Choosing the right enrichment activities for our dogs can be tough, especially in a lively city like Los Angeles. With so many options out there, it’s easy to feel a bit overwhelmed! I live with some fellow animal lovers, and we often chat about ways to keep our dogs mentally stimulated and happy. With choices ranging from puzzle toys to agility courses and socialization outings, how do you decide what’s best for your pup?

I’ve recently started fostering different breeds and noticed that what engages one dog may not interest another. For example, some dogs are all about chasing balls, while others are more into sniffing things out or tackling challenging toys. I’m curious about what has worked for you! What activities have you found most effective in keeping your dogs engaged and happy?

Have you come across any surprising forms of enrichment that your dog really enjoys? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

I’ve found that a simple nature walk can be super enriching, especially if there are new smells or sights! My dog loves exploring different parks and just sniffing around. For a twist, sometimes we add in a scavenger hunt with treats hidden in the grass. It really keeps things interesting!
