Interactive Toys for Fish: Are They Worth It?

I’ve recently set up a small aquarium, and I’m really excited about it! However, I’ve been thinking about how to keep my fish more entertained. While traditional decorations and plants look nice, I’m curious about interactive toys. Do they actually enhance fish behavior and enrichment?

I’ve heard of a few options, like floating toys or motion sensors that respond to the fish’s movements. If you’ve tried any of these interactive toys, what did you observe? Did your fish seem more active or curious? Also, are there any brands or specific types that you would recommend? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I tried a motion-activated toy once, and my betta loved it! He would chase it around when it moved. Definitely made him more active compared to just having plants. As for brands, I’ve seen some good ones on aquarium sites, but really, just make sure it’s safe for your fish.

I tried some floating toys for my betta once, and honestly, he didn’t care about them at all. Just hung out by the plants instead. I think it might depend on the fish species too; some just seem more curious while others are super chill. Maybe it’s worth trying a cheap one first to see if yours reacts!
