Noticing worms in a cat can be alarming, and many pet owners may feel the need to act quickly. But is it wise to deworm a cat on your own without consulting a veterinarian first? With so many over-the-counter products available, each claiming effectiveness, it can be hard to determine which is the best fit for our pets.

I’ve dealt with worms in my cat before, and honestly, I’d recommend talking to a vet first. Some OTC stuff can be super hit or miss, plus you want to make sure it’s the right type of treatment for the worms. Better safe than sorry, especially with multiple pets around!
