Positive Reinforcement in Households with Multiple Pets

Training multiple pets can be quite a challenge, especially with their different personalities and behaviors. Many of us have been exploring positive reinforcement techniques for our dogs and cats, and I’m interested to know how effective these methods have been for others.

What strategies have you found successful when working with various pets? Do you notice that some respond better than others? I’d love to hear any funny stories or achievements from your training sessions. Also, how do you manage it when one pet acts out while you’re trying to reward another? Looking forward to your insights!

I’ve found using separate training sessions really helps when managing multiple pets. Treats and toys work wonders, but I’ve noticed my dog responds way better to praise than food. And when one acts out, I just ignore that behavior and keep focusing on the one who’s doing well. It’s not easy, but the progress is worth it! Got any funny moments from your sessions?

I’ve found that using treats really helps, but it’s all about timing! My dog catches on quickly, while the cat, not so much. To keep things organized, I train them separately—otherwise, the dog gets jealous and acts out. Any tips for keeping the cat engaged during dog training?
