With so many DIY toy ideas out there for parrots, it can be tough to figure out which ones are best. I’ve experimented with a few different types for my parrot, but I’m always on the lookout for new ideas that really engage him. Some toys grab his attention, while others just sit untouched.
I’m curious to hear from others! What materials or designs have worked well for you? Are there specific DIY projects you’d recommend that are both safe and fun for our feathered friends? Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!
I’ve made some pretty simple toys using cardboard tubes from paper towels and just filling them with treats or crumpled paper. My parrot goes crazy trying to get to the goodies! Also, I’ve attached some wooden dowels with strong rope; he loves swinging on those and chewing the wood. Definitely a hit in my house!
I made a simple foraging toy using plain cardboard and some little treats hidden inside. My parrot loves tearing it apart to get to the food. It’s cheap and he spends a ton of time on it, way better than those overpriced store toys!
