Finding the right DIY toys for a household with both dogs and cats can be quite a challenge. Each pet has its unique preferences and play styles, making it hard to create options that everyone will enjoy. Has anyone else faced this issue?

I’ve experimented with a few homemade toys, such as rope knots and stuffed fabric animals. However, I’m interested in hearing what materials or designs have worked best for others. I totally get the struggle! I’ve made some toys using cardboard boxes and crumpled paper—my cat loves to pounce inside while my dog enjoys tearing it apart. Also, try using tennis balls with some treats hidden inside; both my pups and the cat go nuts for those!

Yeah, I totally get that! I’ve made some feather wands with string attached to a stick that my cat loves, but my dog goes crazy for the knots from old t-shirts. It’s a bit hit or miss, but mixing materials seems to help keep both entertained. What about trying cardboard boxes too? They can be a hit for both pets!
