What enrichment activities keep your indoor cats entertained?

Keeping indoor cats mentally stimulated can be quite a challenge. Living in a pet-friendly neighborhood in Los Angeles has made me more aware of the need for engaging activities to prevent boredom. It seems like toys lose their charm way too quickly, so I’m on the lookout for new ideas.

Have you found any unique enrichment activities that your cats really love? I’ve heard great things about puzzle feeders and interactive toys, but I’m particularly interested in DIY options or specific routines that have worked for you. What changes have you noticed in your cat’s happiness and activity levels with these activities?

Try hiding treats around the house for a little scavenger hunt! My cats go nuts for it, and it really gets them moving. You can mix it up by using different rooms or even boxes to make it a fun challenge. They’ve definitely seemed happier and more engaged since we started doing it!

Try making a simple DIY cat tree with different levels and hiding spots. My cats love to climb and explore, and it keeps them busy for hours. Also, you can rotate toys and hide treats around the house—some days they’ll be super excited just looking for stuff!
