What Temperature Is Best for Tropical Fish Tanks?

Setting up a tropical fish tank can be really exciting but also a bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to keeping the right temperature. I’m currently torn between maintaining my tank at 75°F or raising it to around 80°F. I’ve read a lot about how temperature fluctuations can stress fish, and I really want to provide the best environment for them.

I have a pretty structured routine for taking care of my aquarium, but I’m unsure if I’m hitting the ideal temperature for the species I have. Some seem more lively at certain temperatures, while others look a bit sluggish. What’s been your experience? Do you stick to a specific temperature range, or do you adjust based on different species?

If you’ve experimented with different temperatures, what changes did you notice in your fish’s behavior or health? I’d love to hear how others manage their tropical tanks!

I tend to keep mine around 78°F, and it seems to keep everyone happy. Some fish do get more active at that temp, but I find going too high makes some of my sensitive ones a bit stressed. Have you considered checking your fish’s specific needs? It really helps narrow it down!
