What to Look for in the Best Dog Training Treats?

Choosing the right dog training treats can feel overwhelming with so many choices available. From my experience, it’s important to find treats that not only motivate my pets but are also healthy. I’ve found that some treats can be too rich and cause stomach issues, while others just don’t get my dogs excited during training.

I want to ensure my treats fit well with my positive reinforcement methods, so I’m seeking advice on what factors to consider. Are there specific ingredients that make a treat more effective? Do you find soft treats work better than crunchy ones for training?

What have you discovered that works best for your dogs? Are there any brands or types of treats you always recommend for effective training sessions?

I totally feel you on the treat struggle! I’ve had better luck with soft, meaty treats since my dog seems way more into them during training. For brands, I’d say Zuke’s and Blue Buffalo have been solid choices for me – my pup can’t get enough! Just watch out for the ingredient list; I try to stick to ones with real meat as the first ingredient.
