Why does my cat keep running away from me?

Noticing a sudden shift in your cat’s behavior can be quite concerning. Lately, it seems like every time I approach my cat, he darts away as if I’m a threat. Just moments ago, he was happily curled up on my lap. Has anyone else faced this puzzling behavior?

It’s frustrating because I really want to strengthen our bond, but it feels like he’s retreating instead. Cats can be fickle! Maybe try giving him some space and letting him come to you instead. Also, keeping his favorite toys or treats nearby when you’re around could help him associate you with something positive. If it continues, a vet check might be worth it, just in case there’s an underlying issue.

Have you tried sitting on the floor and letting him come to you instead of approaching him? Sometimes that makes them feel more in control. Also, check if there’s anything new in the environment, like a loud noise or a new pet, that might be spooking him.
