Why Does My Dog Lick Her Lips So Much?

I’ve noticed that my dog has been licking her lips constantly lately. At first, I thought it was just a quirky thing she does, but now I’m starting to worry that it might mean something more. She’s not eating or drinking differently, and her overall health seems fine, but the lip-licking is especially noticeable when she’s relaxing or watching us eat.

I’ve read that this behavior can sometimes indicate stress or anxiety in dogs, but I’m curious if all dogs lick their lips for the same reasons. Has anyone else experienced this with their dog? If so, what did you discover, and did you make any adjustments that helped? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

My dog does that sometimes too! I read it can be from boredom or just anticipation for food. When I started giving him more interactive toys, the lip-licking kinda lessened. Maybe try some puzzle toys or something to keep her busy?

My dog does the same thing, but I’ve noticed it more when she’s bored than anxious. Maybe try giving her some more engaging toys or activities? It could just be her way of coping with downtime.
